18-Wheeler Sideswiped Car, Results in Diesel Spill

Corpus Christi, TX (11/06/2019) – A diesel spill shuts down SPID access road in Corpus Christi after an 18-wheeler sideswipe collision Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the semi-truck sideswiped a car on the freeway and ran off into the access road, where it ultimately crashed into a concrete column.

The driver of the semi-truck was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He is expected to be okay.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The SPID access road between Carroll Lane and Kostoryz Road was shut down for a few hours while fire crews cleaned up the diesel spill.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

An investigation of this accident will prove essential due to the fact that a commercial truck put another motorist’s life at risk. Because the commercial truck sideswiped the second car, the driver of the semi-truck, and the trucking company may be liable for any damages brought forth upon the motorist.

The elements of liability, damages, and the ability to pay are critical in determining the value of a case or claim. Without all three elements, a case has little to no value given the nature of our legal system.
