Harris County, TX (June 18, 2019) – An 8-year-old girl was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in northwest Harris County.
The car accident happened around 10:00 p.m. on Old Bammel North Houston Road near Highway 249.
The girl was in the back seat of a blue Chevrolet HHR that was stopped at the red light in the center lane of Highway 249. The vehicle was rear-ended by a white Lexus.
The child was airlifted to a local hospital. Authorities report that the girl was conscious but non-responsive when she was taken to the hospital.
Authorities state that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. It has not been determined if the at-fault driver will face charges.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in ten days.
