Littlefield, TX (7/13/2021) – Two people were killed and one person was injured after a crash Tuesday afternoon.

Two People Dead in Fiery 18-wheeler Crash in Wichita County

The accident happened around 5 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and Loop 430. Witnesses say a white Honda Accord ran a stop sign just as a semi-truck was headed westbound. The semi-truck attempted to avoid the Accord, but ultimately the semi-truck crashed into the Accord and side-swiped an ambulance.

The driver of the Accord was killed at the scene. His 2-year-old daughter was sent to the hospital, where she later died.

The wife of the driver was taken to UMC with life-threatening injuries.

Occupants in the ambulance were also taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Truck Accident Attorneys

Failing to yield at a stop sign is a violation of Texas roadway laws and a clear indication of negligence. If someone commits an act of negligence, and it results in injury, the victim has a right to file a claim for personal injury.

Any type of motor vehicle accident has the potential to cause serious and life-changing injuries. However, accidents involving large commercial trucks or 18-wheelers have an especially high risk of resulting in catastrophic or even fatal injuries for many reasons. While it remains to be seen what caused vehicles to collide with each other, we do know two people were injured as a result.

Pending the results of the investigation, if the semi-truck is seen at-fault and it turns into a case, the process of filing a truck accident claims begins. This consists of filing a claim, negotiations, and ultimately litigation if settlement cannot be obtained.
