Armstrong County, TX (4/13/2021) – A woman and child were injured, and a child was killed after being in a crash on southbound US 287 on Tuesday.

At around 7 p.m., a Toyota 4Runner was headed east on 287 while a Freightliner truck-tractor was parked on the south shoulder facing east. The driver of the 4Runner failed to stay in a single lane, traveled into the shoulder, and struck the semi.

A boy, 6, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Katie Thomason, 29, and another boy, a 7-month-old, were taken to Northwest Texas Hospital.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
