Jack County, TX (8/28/2021) – A fatal single-vehicle wreck left one driver dead and a passenger injured Saturday morning.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. on FM 1810 in northeast Jack County. A Toyota pickup driven by 41-year-old John Clark was headed east when he departed the roadway for unknown reasons. The trailer went into a side skid and struck a tree stump.

The impact caused the vehicle to roll down a tall bridge embankment and ito a dry creek. The pickup fell on its roof with its trailer on top of it.

Clark was killed at the scene.

His passenger Robert Allen was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Skid Accidents

Skid accidents occur when tires do not grip the road. When a skid occurs, it is hard for the driver to maintain control of the vehicle, which leads to an accident.

A skid accident resulted in a driver killed and a passenger injured.
