Tyler, TX (2/21/2021) – Two people are injured after a late Sunday night crash in Tyler.

The accident happened around 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of SSW Loop 323 and Frankston Highway. A Ford F-250 was headed southbound approaching Loop 323 when it ran a red light and then hit a vehicle on the loop.

Two occupants in the vehicle that was hit were taken to UT Health via EMS. The driver was taken to the ICU.

The driver of the Ford, 24-year-old Broderick Willis, was arrested and taken to Smith County Jail with multiple charges.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Driving With Negligence

Running a red light at a traffic stop is a violation of Texas roadway laws, and a clear indication of negligence.

If someone commits an act of negligence, and it results in someone being injured, the victim has a right to file a personal injury claim. For the situation above, the two people that were hit have a right to file a personal injury claim against the red light runner.
