Corpus Christi, TX (8/21/2020) – An explosion left three people with serious burns and an unknown amount of people hospitalized in Corpus Christi.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. near the Port of Corpus Christi. A dredging vessel, Waymon Boyd, struck a natural gas pipeline near Inner Harbor, causing a massive explosion to occur.
At least three people suffered severe burns in the explosion and were taken to a burn unit in San Antonio via helicopter.
An unknown number of people were hospitalized following the explosion. Two others refused treatment at the scene.
Four people that were involved in Friday’s explosion are still missing along the Corpus Christi Ship Channel.
