One Dead, One Injured in Fatal Collision on Highway 64

Rusk County, TX (11/13/2019) – One person is dead and one injured after a two-vehicle car wreck on Tuesday afternoon in Rusk County.

The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. on State Highway 64. An Isuzu Flatbed was going east and attempted a left turn into a private driveway when an Acura TLX struck the Flatbed from behind, according to DPS.

The driver of the Acura, 40-year-old April Marie Cameron, was killed at the scene.

The driver of the Flatbed, Christopher Black Taliaferro, 32, was reportedly not injured in the wreck, says DPS.

The highway was shut down at Loop 571 and Old Tyler Road as responders arrived to the crash site.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Hiring a Personal Injury Lawyer

After being injured in a car accident, it’s important to file a personal injury claim with the insurance company. However, insurance companies are only looking out for their best interests.

For instance, State Farm claims and USAA claims are only working towards what will be in favor of State Farm and USAA. Anything you tell to an insurance company claims adjuster can be used against you.

The best way to make sure you are treated fairly after your car accident is to hire a lawyer who knows the law and who is willing to fight to make sure that you are treated fairly.  Don’t settle for just any lawyer.  Hire a lawyer who has the experience and resources necessary to take on insurance company.

At Sutliff & Stout that is exactly what we do.  Our board certified personal injury lawyers know how to hold the insurance companies accountable and get you the money you deserve.
