Fort Bend County, TX (7/4/2021) – A 29-year-old woman injured on July 4th weekend remains hospitalized after a deadly firework explosion.
The incident occurred in a parking lot off Highway 6 and Voss Road. She and her uncle were setting off fireworks when one exploded. As a result, she suffered serious injuries and burns on her face and arms.
The woman was airlifted and sent to the ER.
Since then, she’s had four surgeries and has 150 stitches on her cheeks.
The uncle says they still don’t know what caused the firework to blow up.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
