Geraldine Wilcox Hylander Killed in Head-on Collision on FM 973

Buda, Texas (October 16, 2019) – An elderly woman was involved in a fatal head-on collision with a semi-truck on Farm to Market Road 973 near Buda, Texas.

The car accident happened Monday morning around 10:15 a.m.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the 18-wheeler was traveling east when the trucks tires went off the road.

The driver lost control of his steering and veered into oncoming traffic where he collided with a woman driving a Chevy Impala.

The victim has been identified as 80-year-old Geraldine Wilcox Hylander from Buda.

The truck driver was not injured and has been identified as Charmell Ramone Randle from Austin.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
