auto pedestrian accident

Waco, TX (12/16/2019) – A 21-year-old Baylor student is now hospitalized after getting hit by a car in Waco early Sunday morning.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. at 12th Street and La Salle Avenue when a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Gabriela Estrada drove through a red light and struck O’Heeron as she was crossing the street. Estrada then fled the scene.

O’Heeron was transported to a nearby hospital. She is expected to survive with multiple injuries, including head trauma and broken bones.

Estrada was charged with Intoxicated Assault and Failure to Stop and Render Aid Causing Serious Bodily Injury. She remains in jail.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Extensive injuries including head trauma and multiple broken bones can put victims out of work and in debilitating pain for weeks, maybe even months. These kinds of damages can result in thousands in medical expenses, pain and suffering, and even lost wages. When this happens, it’s important to consider legal assistance to help you as you navigate your recovery.

The best way to make sure you are treated fairly after your car accident is to hire a lawyer who knows the law and who is willing to fight to make sure that you are treated fairly.  At Sutliff & Stout, our board certified personal injury lawyers know how to hold the insurance companies accountable and get you the money you deserve.
