Crosby County, TX (4/22/2020) – A high schooler was killed Monday night after being involved in a wreck with a Greyhound bus.

The crash happened on US-62/82 near Ralls Cemetery around 10 p.m. According to DPS, a pickup driven by 16-year-old Ryan Avery Sosa Soliz was approaching the intersection of US HWY 82 while the Greyhound bus was westbound on US HWY 82. Soliz failed to yield right of way, and the bus collided with the front driver side door of Soliz’s pickup.

Soliz was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The Greyhound bus driver and its 16 passengers were not injured.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Texas Is an At-Fault State

In the case above, the not failing to yield the right-of-way resulted in a wreck. The best way to make sure you are treated fairly after your car accident is to hire a lawyer who knows the law and who is willing to fight to make sure that you are treated fairly.  An attorney can deal with insurance adjusters for you, negotiate settlements, and represent your best interests if a lawsuit is needed.
