Jennifer Greer Dead, Man Injured after Deadly Drunk-Driving Accident

Fort Worth, TX (1/3/2020) – A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured after being involved in a deadly collision with a drunk driver on Wednesday, January 1.

The collision occurred on State Highway 121 in Lewisville when a GMC Terrain, driven by 25-year-old Marrisamary Guadalupe Pecina, collided into a Chevy Cavalier at the 135 East Frontage Road.

The man, who was also the driver of the Cavalier, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The female passenger was killed due to injuries of blunt-force trauma to the head. She was identified as 25-year-old Jennifer Greer.

Pecina was charged with a DWI and arrested after treatment at a local hospital.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Drunk Driving Liability

In most cases involving a DWI or a drunk driver, the liability remains wholly on the driver due to the fact that they acted with negligence when they decided to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. In some cases, however, especially in Texas, alcohol vendors can also be held liable for serving drunk drivers. These claims are known as dram shop claims and these can be issued if the vendor was serving someone under 18 years of age, the driver was intoxicated and a clear danger to others, and if the intoxication was a foreseeable cause of injuries suffered by others. Whoever is liable, it’s important to contact legal assistance to keep those who are at fault responsible for their actions.
