Man Dead after Stepping on Electric Power Line after Car Crash

Texas City, TX (2/12/2020) – A young man is dead after being electrocuted following a crash into a utility pole Saturday.

The incident happened in Texas City, Texas when Fabian Garnica, 20, and his girlfriend crashed into a utility pole on the side of Highway 146.

Both Garnica and his girlfriend, Destiny Wallace, survived the crash. Garnica stepped out to survey the damage, but he stepped directly onto a downed power line and was electrocuted.

Wallace was taken to the emergency room for treatment of injuries. It was revealed she was pregnant with Garnica’s baby.

Investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

It’s important to stay inside the vehicle at all times following a crash. No matter what happens, injuries can worsen and catastrophes can increase. If you don’t remain in the vehicle, fatalities such as the situation above can happen.

Accidents that involve extensive injuries or death are encouraged to contact legal counsel due to the amount of damages that come from an accident that causes such fatalities. An attorney can deal with insurance adjusters for you, negotiate settlements, and represent your best interests if a lawsuit is needed. If you or a loved one were involved in a car accident, immediately contact a legal expert to help you evaluate your options.
