Dallas, TX (12/2/2019) – A 61-year-old man is dead after his vehicle spun out of control and crashed into a van in the early hours on Sunday morning, December 1.
The accident happened around 1:45 a.m. According to Dallas police, Timothy Franklin was driving his vehicle north on South Buckner Boulevard at a high speed when his car spun out of control, crossed the center median, and hit a van going southbound.
Franklin died at the scene.
The driver of the van, also a 61-year-old man, was cut out of the van and transported to a nearby hospital. He is expected to be okay with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both sides of Buckner Boulevard were closed following the crash.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
An investigation to this accident will prove essential due to the fact that a vehicle spun out of control and put another person’s life at risk. An Engine Control Module is one of the parts of an investigation that will not only reveal what may have caused the car to spin out of control, but it will reveal to see if Franklin may have stepped on the brakes or if he even decelerated before the accident. An ECM module are one of the most important pieces of evidence in a case like the one above.
