The accident happened on Copia Street and East Yandell Drive in central El Paso around 2:35 p.m. between a Chevrolet Avalanche and a Honda Accord. The Honda Accord was turning left onto Copia when a Chevrolet Avalanche came at high speeds and hit the Honda.

The impact caused the truck to roll and dragged the Honda along with it. The truck also hit an unoccupied vehicle.

The driver of the Honda, 65-year-old Aispuro Perfecto Beltran, was killed due to his injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 22-year-old man, was taken to the hospital for injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Speeding Accident Lawyers

In Houston, thousands of individuals are hurt in high-speed car accidents each year. Despite the knowledge that speeding is dangerous, speed remains one of the leading causes of car accidents. Speeding not only increases the likelihood of crashing but also substantially furthers the risk for catastrophic injuries or death among victims.

The psychology behind why people speed has to do with a variety of situational, motivational, personal, and societal factors. Some key similarities among speeding drivers include:

  • Inattention
  • Intoxication
  • Habit
  • Road rage
  • Impatience or being late to something
  • Bad driving environment
  • Length of trip
  • Pressure to keep up with traffic
  • A vehicle with high horsepower
