Freestone County, TX (5/28/2021) – An accident involving three vehicles and a pedestrian left one man tragically killed.
The accident happened on IH-45 around 4:39 p.m. A Fairfield two truck operator was attempting to pull a vehicle in the center median with his tow truck when a Toyota Corolla came by and made a lane change. The Corolla collided with a Volvo sedan. The Corolla then crossed into the inside lane, drove up the extended rollback, and went airborne into the operator.
The operator, 35-year-old David Isaac Simmons, succumbed to his injuries after being at Hillcrest Medical Center Waco.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
