Tyler, TX (12/17/2019) – A collision involving multiple people and animals resulted in injuries on Saturday afternoon in Tyler County.
The accident happened at the intersection of US 190 and FM 92 around 2 p.m. when a Hyundai failed to yield the right of way turning left onto FM 92 and was hit by a GMC pickup truck towing a horse trailer. Afterward, the GMC drove to a convenience store parking lot, hitting a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a Ford pickup truck. The GMC drove into the wall of a convenience store before coming to a complete stop.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 36-year-old Cora Goneau, and passenger Joseph Griffith, 31, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the GMC, Laramie Dunn, 21, was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There were no injuries reported for the two additional vehicles the GMC struck.
All animals involved were also not harmed.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
