Stonewall County, TX (3/13/2021) – A woman was killed and another person was injured in a two-vehicle crash east of Aspermont Saturday morning.

The accident happened around 11:45 a.m. on SH 283

A vehicle driven by 59-year-old Tammy Diane Yarborough was headed south on FM 1835 when she failed to yield the right-of-way at the intersection of SH 283, causing her car to be struck by a pickup truck on the left side.

Yarborough was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Due to the nature of this accident, and the fact that a failure to yield led to the death of a driver and the injuries of another driver, a crash investigation will be conducted. This includes collecting reports, conducting interviews, and obtaining evidence for negligent driving.
