One Dead, Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident

Wilson County, TX (1/7/2020) -Gerard Jimenez is now dead and two others are injured after being involved in a two-vehicle accident early Monday afternoon in Wilson County.

The accident occurred around 12:55 p.m. at Texas 97 and FM 1344. According to DPS, a Mercedes driven by Jimenez was headed north on FM 1344 when he approached an intersection and disregarded a signal. He then was struck by a Jeep headed east on Texas 97.

Jimenez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Jeep were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Because Jimenez failed to follow a traffic signal before the crash, he may be liable for the actions that resulted in his failure to obey traffic laws. The two people that were injured in the Jeep may be entitled to a personal injury claim.
