One Killed, Four Injured in Multi-Vehicle Wreck on Highway 80

Elmo, TX (2/21/2020) – One person was killed and four others were injured in a four-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Elmo, Texas.

The accident occurred around 5:40 a.m. on U.S. Highway 80. The vehicles involved were a Nissan Frontier, a Ford F-150, a Mazda and a Buick. According to DPS, the Frontier was headed east when it crossed into the west lanes of U.S. 80 and struck the F-150 and Mazda. The Buick also struck the Mazda during the collision.

One person was killed at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the F-150 were both transported to a Baylor hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Texas Is an At-Fault State

In Texas, drivers involved in car accidents always include someone who is at-fault, meaning that there is an individual who caused the accident to occur. In the case above, the Frontier lost control and resulted in a deadly four-vehicle wreck. Because of this, the insurance company in contact with the driver of the Frontier could face claims of wrongful death and personal injury. However, insurance companies are only looking out for their best interests.

The best way to make sure you are treated fairly after your car accident is to hire a lawyer who knows the law and who is willing to fight to make sure that you are treated fairly.  An attorney can deal with insurance adjusters for you, negotiate settlements, and represent your best interests if a lawsuit is needed. If you or a loved one were involved in a car accident, immediately contact a legal expert to help you evaluate your options.
