Odessa, TX (6/15/2021) – A person was killed and another was injured following a wreck that happened Tuesday night.

Around midnight, a Nissan and a Dodge Ram 5500 collided on Loop 338 at University. The Nissan was traveling south with the Ram traveling a short distance behind it. The Nissan attempted a U-turn on the overpass when the Ram hit the Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan, 33-year-old Ted Wesson, was killed at the scene. His passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ram was not hurt.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

U-Turn Accident Lawyers

Not all U-turns are illegal; however, there’s a right way and a wrong way to execute a U-turn on Houston roadways. To understand the correct way, you must recognize and understand the laws that pertain to U-turns. Unfortunately, when drivers are in a rush, they would rather perform a negligent U-turn than drive up a few blocks where it’s safe to do so. The same concept applies to passenger vehicles when another driver is making a U-turn. Regardless of fault, U-turn traffic accidents can be a scary experience.

The actions involving an SUV and a Ram resulted in a wrongful death of a driver and an injured passenger. While getting behind the wheel is an everyday event, one wrong move can result in the worst day of someone’s life. You can never be too careful on the road, and if something should happen, it’s important to be vigilant and make sure you’re represented in the best way you can.
