Lubbock, TX (8/19/2021) – One person is dead and two other people are injured after a two-vehicle wreck Thursday morning.
The accident happened around 12:45 a.m. at South Loop 289 and Slide Road. A Ford F-550 driven by 30-year-old Timothy Andrew Gonzalez struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 20-year-old Alexus Jackson. The debris from the crash struck a pedestrian, 21-year-old Nathaniel Ruiz, that was walking in the intersection.
One person was killed at the scene. They were identified as 17-year-old Kashara Jackson, a passenger in the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Jackson and Ruiz suffered injuries from the crash.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
