Person Suffered Life-Threatening Injuries after Crash in Austin-Travis County

Austin, TX (5/11/2020) – A person now suffers from life-threatening injuries after being pinned in a vehicle after a crash Saturday in Austin-Travis County.

The accident happened near South Loop 360 and Lost Creek Boulevard when the vehicle rolled during a crash around 7:30 p.m. Personnel worked over 40 minutes to free the person from the vehicle.

The victim was taken to St. David’s South Austin for their injuries.

Five other people also suffered injuries and were also taken to the hospital.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

According to the NHTSA, rollover crashes are more likely to result in fatalities than any other types of crashes, and that most fatal rollover crashes are single-vehicle crashes. This type of crash is ultimately due to excessive speeding, alcohol, and other negligent acts the driver may be at-fault for.
