Refugio, TX (9/18/2020) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck in Refugio Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 3:45 p.m. when a tractor semi-trailer was headed north on U.S. 77 and a Ford F-150 was headed south. The semi-trailer was going at an unsafe speed when he hydroplaned across the median into oncoming traffic. The semi-trailer struck the Ford on the driver’s side door.
The driver of the Ford, 60-year-old Rusty Lee Edwards, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi-trailer was taken to a hospital in Refugio for minor injuries the release states.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
The actions involving the accident above resulted in an untimely, wrongful death of Rusty Lee Edwards. After a trucking accident, some people wait too long to talk to an attorney. What people don’t realize is that the trucking company and insurance company are not waiting around to gather evidence. Trucking companies and insurance companies regularly send investigators to the scene of the accident on the day of the collision to gather evidence to try to diminish the value of a claim.
