The accident happened on Interstate 35 in Kyle. Jose Luis Juarez was driving an 18-wheeler when he struck a box truck and tow truck that was parked on the right shoulder of the highway. Both the box truck and the tow truck drivers were outside their vehicles at the time of the crash.

The tow truck driver, 22-year-old Tristen Cother, was killed on impact.

The box truck driver was hurt and taken to the hospital.

Juarez was arrested after attempting to leave the scene.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

An investigation into this accident will prove essential due to the fact that a commercial truck fatally killed a 22-year-old man as well as injuring another driver. The driver of the semi-truck that caused the accident, and the trucking company, may be liable for any damages brought forth upon the two individuals.

The elements of liability, damages, and the ability to pay are critical in determining the value of a case or claim. Without all three elements, a case has little to no value given the nature of our legal system.
