Palo Pinto County, TX (7/15/2020) – Two college students from Trinity University are now dead after being involved in a car accident last Friday.

The accident happened in Palo Pinto County around 6 p.m. near FM 4 and U.S. 281. Tyler Colvin, 19, and Rebekah Wendt, 20, were out campaigning for the Young Conservatives of Texas and they were on their way back to the hotel when Colvin failed to yield the right-of-way and struck the passenger side of a GMC 3500 pickup truck.

Colvin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wendt was taken to the hospital via air ambulance, where she was later pronounced dead.

The condition of the driver of the GMC was not given.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led to the accident, and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
