Austin, TX (11/19/2019) – A car wreck in east Austin left two dead and four injured late Sunday night.
The accident occurred around 9:05 p.m. in the area of North Imperial Drive and Colfax drive, according to Austin-Travis County EMS medics. A 24-year-old man was driving a Dodge Ram on Colfax drive when he hit a Honda Accord driven by the Cabrieleses.
Joe Aurelio Cabrieles, 40, and Jose Aurelio Cabrieles-Montoya, 15, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Those injured included a female child, two women in their 20s, and one person who refused treatment. One woman was transported via helicopter for critical injuries, another woman was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center, and the child was taken to Dell Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the Dodge truck was identified as Angel Alfonso Casique Patino. He was arrested at the scene.
He is accused of intoxication manslaughter and had a blood alcohol level of 0.163 at the time of the accidentCrash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
