Blum, Texas (12/17/2019) – One person is dead and another injured after a two-vehicle collision in Hill County in Blum, Texas.

According to DPS, troopers showed around 6:20 a.m. Monday on FM 933.

Whitney Morgan, 24, failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of her Nissan SUV. She crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a pickup truck.

Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck suffered injuries and was taken to a Fort Worth hospital.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

According to the NHTSA, rollover crashes are more likely to result in fatalities than any other types of crashes, and that most fatal rollover crashes are single vehicle crashes. This type of crash is ultimately due to excessive speeding, alcohol, and other negligent acts the driver may be at-fault for.
