Grimes County, TX (12/16/2019) – The wife of a volunteer firefighter was critically injured Saturday in Grimes County after a pickup truck lost control on Highway 90 and struck her.
According to troopers, a pickup truck was approaching the scene of a crash when he swerved off the highway to avoid hitting stopped vehicles. This is when he hit the woman standing near a gate on private property. According to Anderson Volunteer Fire Department Chief Michael Kimich, she also shoved a child out of the way before getting hit.
The wife was taken to a nearby hospital where she suffers a broken leg and other minor injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
