Erath County, TX (7/14/2021) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash early afternoon on Wednesday.

The accident happened around 12:08 p.m. on U.S. Highway 67. A Chrysler van was headed north while a vehicle was stopped to turn left into a business. The driver of the Chrysler, 50-year-old Tammie Lynn Combs, failed to see the stopped vehicle and struck the rear of the vehicle, an International Cub Cadet towing a trailer.

Combs was killed at the scene.

Her two passengers, ages 8 and 10, were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver of the International Cub Cadet, Mark W. Lively, 63, was not injured.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Rear-End Accident Lawyers

Most people consider rear-end car accidents to be minor. Often, these collisions occur in bumper-to-bumper traffic, in a parking lot, or in other situations when cars are moving at low speeds. When rear-end car accidents occur at high speeds, they can result in severe injuries and are sometimes fatal.

As a result of the rear end collision, two children were left with unknown injuries. Watching your child experience an injury as a result of another person’s negligence is extremely traumatic. No child should ever have to suffer, especially if the accident that caused their injury was avoidable. As a parent, you want the best for your child and will do anything to help them experience the best life possible. That’s why when your child is injured, you need the help of a compassionate attorney who will fight for you.

A rear-end collision can alter your life in seconds. In the blink of an eye, you may find yourself handling catastrophic medical debt and legal matters, all while trying to cope with a traumatic event. If you were in a rear-end accident caused by the negligence of another party, let the attorneys at Sutliff & Stout help you attain the justice you deserve.
