Angelina County, TX (1/16/2020) – A woman was transported to a hospital via LifeFlight after being struck by oncoming traffic in Angelina County.

The accident occurred Wednesday around 12:15 p.m. on SH 63 when a female construction worker stepped into a lane of traffic as a Honda car was traveling west on the same road.

The driver of the Honda, 23-year-old Destiny Husband, suffered minor injuries from the accident.

The pedestrian construction worker, 21-year-old Savannah Lee, was taken via medical helicopter to a hospital in Lufkin then to another one in Tyler. Her injuries are yet to be reported.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Construction Accident Attorneys

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has reported that one out of every ten construction workers are injured each year. They also report that fall hazards are actually the leading cause of injury for construction workers. Although many of these injuries are caused by simple accidents, others could have been prevented if it weren’t for the carelessness or negligence of someone else.

The best course of action for anyone involved in a construction accident would be to acquire the services of an attorney specializing in personal injury cases. For a free case evaluation, please contact Sutliff & Stout online or by phone at (713) 987-7111.
