Woman Struck by Car While Trying to Help Others in Killeen

Killeen, TX (11/25/2019) – A woman is dead from her injuries after getting hit by a car while helping others in an accident Thursday evening in Killeen, Texas.

A motorcycle accident occurred around 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of 38th Street and Water Street. Pamela Kay Freeman, 51, observed the accident, stopped her vehicle and crossed 38th Street to go and help when a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 struck her.

She was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where she died around 8 p.m.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Pedestrian Accident Lawyers, Sutliff & Stout

Auto-pedestrian accidents are a common fatality on Texas roads. There are many ways someone may be negligent in auto-pedestrians accidents, including distracted driving, failing to yield the right-of-way, and disobeying traffic laws. In most cases, it is clear that the driver usually remains at fault in auto-pedestrian accidents due to the factors listed prior.

For the case above, it remains to be seen as to why the woman was struck by the Silverado. What remains to be seen, however, is the heartbreaking manner in which she died. Because of her horrific wrongful death, the family of the woman is entitled to file a wrongful death suit against the truck driver.
