Young Boy Injured after Fatal Wreck

Waco, TX (3/5/2020) – A young boy was severely injured after being pinned underneath a car early Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred in Waco on Real Drive around 6:45 a.m. According to reports, the boy was riding his bicycle to school when he was struck by a car by the vehicle backing over him. Firefighters rescued him from beneath the car by using a hose bundle as a fulcrum and a ladder as a lever to lift the car off the boy.

The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment for his injuries. He is expected to recover.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

The Sutliff & Stout Law Firm hears too often of accidents that occur with children riding their bicycles to school and a car comes along and hits them. It’s an accident that can be easily prevented by driving defensively – looking in all mirrors before backing out of a driveway or checking mirrors before changing a lane. When drivers neglect this practice, it can lead to bicycle accidents, or even worse, death.

If you or a loved one were involved in a bicycle accident, it is important to contact a legal expert to help you evaluate your options. Call (713) 987-7111 or send us an email to discuss your accident injury case.
