Houston, TX (11/11/2019) – Ashlyn Rhodes, 21, was fatally killed after a man ran a red light and collided into her car on Sunday, November 3.

The accident happened near the intersection of Westheimer Road and South Dairy Ashford Road when Adokoe Akue, 29, sped through a red light at 80 mph and collided with Rhodes’s Volkswagen Jetta.

Ashlyn Rhodes was killed instantly.

Kannin Williams, 18, was riding with Rhodes in her car and suffered a fractured arm, fractured skull and sustained serious internal injuries, according to sources.  He is expected to survive.

Akue was hospitalized with a fractured leg. He now faces charges of manslaughter and reckless, aggravated assault. His bond is set at $40,000.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

Sometimes these accidents can lead to death. This is why it’s important to seek legal counsel so you can be rightly compensated.
