Austin, TX (5/14/2020) – An accident in North Austin left one dead and four seriously injured Friday, May 8th.
It happened around 3 p.m. on Metric Boulevard, south of Parmer Lane. A GMC SUV and a Hino van collided into each other for an unknown reason. The van was forced over the center median and struck a Mitsubishi Galant head-on.
A passenger in the Galant, 66-year-old James Henry Omary, sustained life-threatening injuries and died upon arrival at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center.
Four other occupants in the Galant suffered varying degrees of injuries.
The drivers of the GMC and the Hino were uninjured and remained on scene.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
