Harrison County, TX (10/25/2020) – One person is dead and two more were left injured in a Harrison County two-vehicle wreck.
The accident occurred Sunday afternoon around 1:20 p.m. on U.S. Highway 80. A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 40-year-old Gilford Leon Nugent III, was headed west on U.S. 80 when he crossed over the center stripe while navigating a curve and struck another Chevrolet Silverado towing a travel trailer.
Nugent was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second Chevrolet, 33-year-old Scott Allan Roode, and his passenger 31-year-old Trissta Leeann Hepting, were sent to the hospital. They both remain stable.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
