San Angelo, TX (12/2/2020) – A man was killed after being involved in a single-vehicle wreck late Wednesday night in San Angelo.
The accident happened on Valleyview and Westway Drives around 11 p.m. Maurice Hastey, 20, was driving his Ford F150 pickup truck at a high speed when he overcorrected after swiping a mirror of a parked vehicle and crashed into a brick structure.
Hastey’s passenger, 22-year-old Kenneth Horton, was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his incapacitating injuries.
Hastey was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries.
Hastey was charged with intoxicated manslaughter. Bond was set at $25,000.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
