Robert Anthony Ybarbo Killed in Fatal Car Wreck

Cuero, TX (6/16/2020) – A man is now dead after a fatal car wreck on U.S. 87 in Cuero.

The accident happened around 11:25 a.m. Friday when a 2007 Chrysler crashed into a semi-trailer. The semi-trailer was halted to a stop before turning right into a mechanic shop when it was hit.

Passenger Robert Anthony Ybarbo, 38, was killed at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, James Keith Sheffield, was airlifted to San Antonio Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver of the Chrysler, 43- year old Anthony Lyn Threadgill, was injured and transported to Citizens Medical Hospital.

The driver of the semi-trailer Joe Morin, 41, was not injured.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
