Teenager Killed in Four-Vehicle Wreck in Kingwood

Kingwood, TX (11/10/2020) – A teenage boy is now dead after being involved in a four-vehicle wreck near Kingwood on Tuesday.

The accident happened on the Eastex Freeway between Kingwood Drive and Townsend around 7:30 p.m. 

A Mercedes had mechanical issues and broke down in the southbound lanes of US-59. Both occupants of the Mercedes exited the vehicle and a Dodge pickup stopped behind the Mercedes. That’s when a Nissan pickup truck slammed into the back of the Dodge and then hit another vehicle on the road. The Nissan also slammed into the rear of the Mercedes and pushed it across the median and onto the feeder road. 

The passenger in the Nissan, a 17-year-old boy, was killed at the scene. He was visiting from Honduras. 

The driver of the Nissan was taken to the hospital. 

The other driver’s conditions remain unknown.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
