San Benito, TX (5/26/2020) – A woman is now in custody after being involved in a wreck that killed a 9-year-old girl in San Benito.
The car accident happened Monday morning when an SUV rolled several times and landed off of a frontage road. During the crash, a little girl was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, Maranda Lizette Longoria, was arrested. She faces charges in Intoxication Manslaughter, Intoxication Assault, Accident involving Death, Accident involving SBI, and Accident involving Injury. Her bond is set at $1 million.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
