Galveston, Texas (Aug. 7, 2022) – Miguel Espinoza has been arrested and is being charged with four counts of intoxication manslaughter, after allegedly crashing into a golf cart, killing four members of the same family.
Local police say the incident occurred at the intersection of 33rd street and Avenue R at roughly 11:35 p.m.. Officials say Espinoza was traveling eastbound in a black Hyundai SUV on Avenue R when he failed to stop. Espinoza then struck the golf cart, killing two children and two adults, before then hitting a Dodge truck that was traveling southbound.
According to the family of the deceased, the grandfather, niece, and two grandchildren were killed in the collision. Their grandmother and one of the grandchildren survived the crash, but are said to be in the hospital in critical condition.
