Tyler, Texas (April 26, 2023) – A man from New York was killed, and two others were injured in a multi-vehicle accident involving at least three 18-wheelers on I-20 in Smith County.
Police responded to the report at approximately 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26. Upon arriving at the scene, they reported that three 18-wheelers and a passenger vehicle were involved in the initial crash.
The initial crash was caused by one of the 18-wheelers, striking the rear end of one of the other semi-trucks.
The crash took the life of 50-year-old Newburgh, New York resident, Otabek T. Mamadaliev. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two others, including the passenger vehicle driver, were taken to a nearby hospital for injuries suffered in the crash.
