A Tire Blowout Incident Left One Woman Dead in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, TX (8/5/2020) – A woman has died after a wreck occurred in East Texas between two vehicles.

The accident happened around 8:00 p.m. on July 26 on Interstate 20 westbound. A Ford Expedition was headed west in the left lane when the vehicle’s rear left tire blew out. The driver lost control and swerved to the right where it struck a Hyundai Elantra. The Ford traveled off the roadway and rolled down an embankment. The Hyundai traveled into the center median.

Passenger Brittanie Denise Williams, 33, was ejected from the Expedition. She was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead from her injuries on Sunday.

The driver of the Expedition was identified as Lattoya Janece Davis, 39, of Ft. Worth who was treated and released at the scene.

The driver and passengers in the Hyundai did not suffer any major injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
