El Paso, TX (1/13/2020) – A motorcyclist is now dead after a drunk driver ran a red light and crashed into him Thursday night.
The accident occurred at Raynor and Yandell in El Paso. Celso Manuel Garcia, 38, was driving his Yamaha motorcycle on Yandell when he was struck by 27-year-old Ivan Romo after Romo ran a red light going north on Raynor. Romo then hit two parked cars on the street with his Dodge Ram.
Garcia was killed at the scene.
Romo, a Fort Bliss soldier, was arrested on suspicion of intoxicate manslaughter. He was booked into the El Paso County Facility.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
