Houston, TX (6/27/2021) – A child was injured after she was hit by a car during a gender reveal party Sunday evening.
The incident happened around 8:10 p.m. in southeast Houston near the Gulf Freeway on Japonica Street. A gender reveal party was occurring in the front yard of a home and a 4-year-old girl crossed the street to play with friends. That’s when a Chrysler sedan came by and hit the girl.
The car fled the scene when the family wasn’t looking.
The girl was rushed to the hospital in stable condition. She is expected to survive.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
