Child Injured in Wreck in Northwest Houston

Houston, TX (3/28/2021) – A child was critically injured after being in a crash in northwest Houston Sunday night.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on US 290 when a black car stopped in an attempt to avoid a mattress on the freeway. When the black car stopped, it was hit by another car.

There were three children in the second car, including a 6-year-old not wearing a seat belt. The child was injured and taken to the hospital in critical condition. 

Recent updates say the child was in surgery.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
