Couple Killed in Head-On Collision Involving a Trailer-Tractor

El Paso, TX (12/31/2020) – Two people were killed in a deadly head-on collision in Tornillo.

The accident occurred around 2:40 p.m. when a tractor-trailer lost control and drove into oncoming traffic, which caused him to hit a Renegade Motorhome head-on.

The occupants in the Motorhome, 72-year-old Stephen James Govarker and 57-year-old Sherri La Rhonda Rogers, both died at the scene. 

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 48-year-old Francisco Zamora, is listed in stable condition.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
