Deadly Crash, Man Jumps from Highway 290

HOUSTON (October 5, 2018) -A fatal crash Thursday resulted in shutting down U.S. Highway 290 for hours.

Houston TranStar reported the incident around 11:40 a.m. at U.S. 290 at Pinemont Drive. According to witnesses a man intentionally jumped from a bridge when he was hit by an 18-wheeler heading eastbound on the freeway. Houston Police pronounced the man dead on the scene.

The victim has not been identified. The truck driver has not been charged. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
