San Marcos, TX (11/18/2019) – A man and a woman are dead after a deadly rear-end collision on Interstate Highway 35 Thursday morning.
According to San Marcos Police, 29-year-old Orlando Valdez, also known as magician Val Dino, and Dana Watson, 21, were driving home around 2:45 a.m. when a dump truck rear-ended their car.
Valdez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Watson was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries, where she later died.
The driver of the dump truck was taken to Ascension Seton Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The 204B exit was closed for several hours and I-35 southbound was closed for about an hour.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
